Purpose: To provide a local Palisades with access to Mt. Lukens wide area coverage of 2M repeater.

Mt. Lukens Repeater, VHF ("Channel 7")

Located at 5,100 feet in the western San Gabriel Mountains, northeast of Sunland. Provides wide area 2M coverage to Southern California. Battery backup power is provided at reduced transmitter output. Operation while on battery backup is annunciated by "P" in Morse Code (.-.). Limit use to essential communication while-repeater is operating on battery power. This repeater is normally linked directly to the Hollywood 70cm repeater as well as the Palisades Crossband Link.

Hollywood Repeater, UHF ("Channel 12")

Located at 1,500 feet in the Hollywood Hills west of Laurel Canycn. Provides excellent 70cm coverage to the western and southern part of Los Angeles, and parts of the San Fernando Valley. Battery backup power is provided with same rules as above. This repeater is normally linked directly to the Mt. Lukens 2M repeater and indirectly to the Palisades Crossband Link by way of Mt. Lukens.

Users are encouraged to use the Hollywood Repeater as the primary repeater, with Mt. Lukens and the Palisades Crossband Link as alternates as local conditions permit.
